Stretching from the Taklamakan Desert to the Pacific Ocean, the vast Republic of China contains not only a diverse range of landscapes, but also the world's largest population. The majority of its massive population is concentrated on the east side of the country, and the cities of Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong are some of the largest in the World. China was also the location of some of the world's great early empires, which left behind a wealth of ancient wonders, such as the Great Wall, Terracotta Army, and the Forbidden City.
