Characterized by active volcanos, tropical forest, and two coastlines, Nicaragua embodies the key elements that make Central America distinctive. Although the largest country in Central America, it is also among the poorest and much of its population struggles below the poverty line. The majority of the country's income is from agriculture, with coffee being its largest export. Over recent years, Nicaragua's beaches, volcanos, and incredible biodiversity have attracted more and more visitors and the increased tourism has had a positive impact on the country's economy.
